Shortness of breath

I have been off prednisone since the end of October my rheumatologist took me off . I feel stiffness and muscle pain and extremely tired. It’s been a about 4 days I have a shortness of breath on and off and of course feeling this I have anxiety. Has anyone felt this.

It doesn’t sound as if you were quite ready to come off. I am familiar with those symptoms. You need to have a Synacthen Test your Adrenal Function maybe causing these symptoms - this must be treated urgently as it is dangerous.

You need to speak to a doctor making very clear you’ve come of steroids recently. It may be adrenal insufficiency that needs assessing and other issues ruled out. An early morning cortisol test would be a good start. Why were the steroids stopped and how long were you on them exactly?

I was on prednisone go 14 months and tapered down slowly . Dr said I should come off prednisone .

Shortness of breath should always be reported to a doctor - there are many causes for it. Being on pred can be oe - but being off pred for 4 months is another matter.
