Hi been GCA free since 2019 after a year on Pred … discharged by rheumatologist to stop taking the 5% completely .. alll fine till …. I have fallen on icy patio 2 days ago and feel I may trigger GCA to return presently have neck and headache … has anyone found it return due to a fall? I praying and hoping Not ! 😏
I’m sure my first GCA was caused by a fall which I had.

Your fall could have caused your back and neck muscles to tighten - and that alone can be enough to cause neck pain and headache. Do painkillers help relieve the discomfort?
Hi … no just the one question .. didn’t think the first one went out Yes hsve headaches and neck pain which won’t ease with paracetamol .. I’m resting up all weekend, possible have some concussion!

Do,you think you might have given yourself whiplash with the fall?
Maybe try heat packs and ice packs and some gentle stretches to try and relieve the tension and up the painkillers a bit
Hello yes, I’m sure I’ve got whiplash .. as fell with force have been using hot water bottle and lots of rest. Thank you for responding .. I am going to get through each day positively now, but watching out quietly for the GCA symptoms! Telling myself they won’t come back! How dare they!
