I know, fir all that know me I am usually OK, hence I don't write often. I started this journey with PMR andbGCA in 2015, big journey till now, house move, divorce all last year, lost my best friend in the world. ..... but I did it.....Then I was at 4mg but after last week my Dad, who is 96 went into Hospital in Scotland I live in England... He is lost there. I have been so unwell with my last flu jab, so have to get better to drive 450 miles to see him, with my dog. Anyway, I upped my pred from 5mg to 10mg for a few days, as I had a huge flare with my back muscles. Was in agony but my life needs to go on with driving to Scotland (I remember driving there for 7 hours and couldn't get up out the seat, beforeI was diagnosed with this PMR) . So for anyone who has doubts about upping steroids, don't, it is your body only you know how feel. I'm feeling better, more me, than last week, when I thought my world 🌎 was ending. My heart ❤ goes out to you all. God bless xx

Hello morrison! So sorry to hear about the stressful time you have been enduring what with the loss of your dearest friend in all the world and your father’s illness and hospitalisation. All this on the heels of your house move and divorce. Life’s stresses never cease to come flowing sometimes. I am glad that you feel better that last week and that extra Pred has helped you. Sending you love and strength always. Jane xx

So sorry to read of your stresses.. It is a hard decision to up the pred when you have got down to low numbers, but sometimes needs must! I know it is not easy in emergency situations but breaking the journey with an overnight stay can really help the back. I have a similar aged parent at a not too dissimilar distance and have had to do that. Obviously there is expense and it takes more time but it does mean I am more able to cope on arrival.

Do hope things ease.

Hard times, I’m sending you strength to carry on fighting and wishing the best for your Dad. 🤗
