Well the back garden needs a make-over.
Needless to say, I took this from inside as the wind is still blowing.
Apologies for posting 🤔 off-piste.

Oh dear! Looks drastic!
Oh no! You’ll need to get a man in. We’re white over in Yorkshire, the wind was howling all night.
Neighbours have been in and cleared it and made it safe for me. They worked for 2 hours all four adults and three children and saved my new bird box made by the children.
I am so lucky with my neighbours. They are now clearing up their own damage - trees, and a trampoline which flew over the garden and hit a car. The trampoline was dug into the ground and secured firmly............this is the first time that a 92 mph.
Luckily no snow, must have all been blown down to Yorkshire - friend in Birmingham has 2 inches of the white stuff.
Oh dear...must admit did think about you when I woke up...not too bad down here - blustery and raining and a few trees blown down around village, so day indoors methinks!... and for you!
🐓🐓Ornamental chicken not looking too happy 😉
Methinks 🤔 a bit of TLC called for (not pred).
My peacock bird water bowl - fine. The owl next door to it - upside down.
Well I know what "your" TLC is!...but a hot toddy is probably just right for a cold, wet winter's day ..enjoy.
Hot chocolate with a large dash of Bailey's right now on the desk .............
PS . I don't like Bailey's but in hot chocolate.......................
What lovely, caring neighbours you have! We're fortunate to have a roof over our heads unlike others.I opened the door for a delivery earlier and I have all the neighbours' leaves to sweep up when the wind drops. They always end up in our front garden!🌱🌿🍁🍃🍂
My neighbour has a beautiful mature oak tree that dumps all its leaves in my garden. I don’t care, I enjoy it’s majestic beauty in all the seasons. My fear is that one day someone will chop it down.
My previous neighbour cut a 400 year old oak tree down. When my new neighbours moved in I discussed with the kids (age 6, 9 and 11) about Christmas presents and suggested an oak tree for a joint present. They loved the idea and I am amazed how much it has grown and the kids have a little notice board at the base '
' Our Christmas present in 2020 and we planted it.'
That would be sad. The leaves I object to are those that find their way to my front door like a snow drift. Every time someone opens the door they blow into the porch. Such a small irritation in the great scheme of things and where Pollyanna's glad game is relevant, i.e., I'm glad I have a front door to shut against the elements 😏.
Yup, same here! Plus a load of rubbish from other peoples bins and pieces of branches. Sun’s out now though it’s bitterly cold. Xxxx
I'm glad you've had assistance in clearing up the damage. Our daughter's neighbour had a large tree blown over, thankfully no serious damage. Loved your heading, very apt under the circumstances. 😋
Fantastic neighbours. We had a minor leak in the conservatory, which tripped out all the power around 03:30, until I realised what was happening and the BBq cover is no more. Howling gale, rain and snow though. Bitterly cold still. DIL and grandchildren, lost most of their roof and to rub it in most of it landed on their car. ❄️❄️🌨️🌨️🥶🥶
Oh dear that is rubbing salt in the wound.
Oh no! But what wonderful neighbors you have. I wonder if this is the storm that blew through here a few days ago, accompanying an atmospheric river, which I hope had shed most of its moisture before reaching your side of the Pond.
Hope you’re okay Jinasc - strong winds are my worst fear. At least the garden can be repaired. Woke up to a light covering of snow but no more since. Cold and windy but not as bad as you seem to have had. Keep safe.
🙄 nuff said!
Pleased you're ok jinasc. Such lovely neighbours too. We're at our son's house in the Cotswolds. Beautiful, but heavy snow yesterday and made some roads impassable and others quite treacherous. No idea if everything is ok at home after the strong winds!! We'll find out today!
Everyone stay safe, warm and out of harms way till these weather conditions ease....I think we have enough to deal with without adding further accidents or injuries into the mix! 🙄
Where in the Cotswolds Kendrew?
We used to have a house there.
My son lives in Bourton on the Water.
Ah - lovely! Our house was on the edge of the Cotswold Water Park.
Daughter used to take children there a lot when she lived in Calmsden (hamlet about 6 miles away from Cirencester) before they moved to NZ.
Same here. This is going to be expensive! And it was tiring clearing it up too!
I hope you are having a good rest - insurance companies are going to be busy tomorrow. Although sometimes it is cheaper not to claim.
Pleased to see the trees are still standing, if that is any consolation to you.
Back online. No power as all mains lines are down across our land. The whole area is without power . I have a generator so all the freezers are secure. Log burner with back boiler. Water from spring frozen so hoping for the thaw soon. Snow and ice here so have to take feed for 200 sheep. Others at Mortham are also needing feed. I quite enjoy these periods perversley. They are challenging but always present one with interesting problems to overcome. Some slates off barn roof and one window blown in. Otherwise we are warm, dry and well supplied with food. Snow plough came through today. 90-100mph winds were seriously strong. all good fun.
Good neighbours are like gold dust. After some shockers, I have great neighbours either side. Seems an insult to have this much snow and so cold in November. After 36 hour power cut and longer before t'internet returned it has taken some time to get warmed through, but no major damage or injuries in the village, other than a summerhouse being completely repositioned across the road. Further south in the county people are without power, water and landline. Doesn't bear thinking about. I am glad I am a dinosaur and resisting all elec 'smart' everything as much as I can.
