Hi wonderful people. Was diagnosed in April 21 and currently using slow taper and down to 8mg daily. I have always bruised easily and my legs in particular now look like I’ve been in a battle. But now they are virtually covered in tiny red veins (some look like they may have burst). Is this a side effect of Pred or just old age? At this rate I don’t think I’ll be wearing a skirt too often. Many thanks in advance.

Despite my bruises around the lower shins, that is something I have never seen. I think it can cause spider veins though:
dermnetnz.org/topics/telang...
mentions longterm use of corticosteroids. And worth a look - as it has pictures.
I bruise easily too and it has been worse whilst on pred. However, nothing like what you’ve described. If you have a mobile phone that takes good quality photos, take a pic and email to your GP surgery. That way you can get a view on it. I did this with a mole I had that started bleeding. Photo sent, GP telephoned with good news, saved them time and me going up to the surgery. Just an idea in these COVID days.
Hi, I’m in the same boat, very unhappy with how my legs look now, I’ve never had to cover them before, now I’ve got scars bruises and lumps and bumps and brown patches from where they have bruised and it leaves this strange brown marks, hideous.
No idea what I can now wear, I can’t wear trousers as I’ve had so many ops on my left hip the muscle has wasted so it shows terribly if I wear them. (Can’t win 😟)

Possibly check into descriptions and photos of small vessel vasculitis.
