Morning you lovely people. Any tips on dealing with fluffy face fuzz. Bought a ladies face razor but that just made my face sore and I don't want stubble!

Well there are depilatory creams - eg Veet. Wax strips ouch - expensive laser treatments. I tweeze here and there and put up with the peachiness, only people who love me get within 2 metres and they don’t mind.

I use a small rechargeable facial hair remover. It looks like a big lipstick and is easy and effective and doesn’t give rashes like creams sometimes do. Mine is Binefia but there are others.

Mine is a Braun. Not effective.

My Braun is great but the flawless one I had didn’t suit me but it’s good for hairs all over my fingers !

I think laser will only work on dark hair - it is painful - had my legs lasered some years ago

I have the same problem and just shave, I do have to say wearing a mask helps!

I just used my very ancient Braun depilator after my shower this morning. It's a proper full-size mains one and does a great job. Especially after a shower which makes it a bit less ouchy. You do need to do it regularly at first - the cycle of hair growth means it works best when you get all hairs a similar length and place in the growth cycle. You never get them all straight away and epilators often need a bit of length to get a purchase - but waxing needs longer hair to get it all. You also need to go over the area SLOWLY - it is harder for the electric tweezer bits to get hold of finer hairl

I got a lot of practice when I was on methyl prednisolone for about 9 months - I had a full and very dark beard!!! How is beyond me - I have been naturally white for nearly 30 years so why facial hair was dark is a mystery!! Now it is back to the normal light stuff and usually only a problem at above 13mg. Like SJ I use good old-fashioned tweezers for the odd chin hairs.

Crommie - after l lost all my hair after Chemo - l grew amazing Peachy/Baby Fuzz on my Face 😔I already possessed an Epilady so that’s what l used, l didn’t attempt to do it all in one go but

MyTop Tips Are

Don’t Do It - if you are cold, you need to be warm as otherwise it will really hurt.

Don’t Do It - if your PMR is playing up

If you generally take a pain killer then do it after you’ve taken them -

Now this maybe an Old Wives or even a New Wives Tale eat a Banana before. I don’t know the Science behind it but when l used to get my legs waxed (back in the day) l’d usually eat one before - it can’t do any harm even if doesn’t do any good! 🍌

Occasionally now l’ll whip it across my jaw line & it doesn’t hurt…..

PS There is now a ‘Trend’ for Derma Planing The Face ie using a Razor All Over - Me thinks there could be a long term impact to this 🤦🏻

After using a depilatory cream from Boots for many years I realised my facial skin was beginning to look course and wrinkly (like a dose of sunburn - even following the instructions to the letter). This was despite slathering on moisturiser after using it. I saw an advert on TV for the Finishing Touch Flawless hair remover (got mine in Boots) and tried it out - I threw away the depilatory cream and have never looked back. OH is now wondering why there's a buzzing noise coming from the bathroom some evenings - I'm keeping him guessing.

They are good, there’s one for the eyebrows and one for the chin! Can get them in Tesco and other stores now.

I would probably buy the one for eyebrows, except I haven't got any, so I bought a pencil instead

Try. Waxing strips. You can buy them at the drug store or on Amazon. You get a small box with sheets of pre "waxed" (it may be honey) strips. Detach one and after you clean the hairy area, place the strip sticky side against the hair. Press it down. Then pull the strip off and you'll see the hair. It's inexpensive and easy to use.

I tried waxing strips but the hairs regrew much stronger.

And painful!

You know what they say - no pain no gain - but hang on, we don't want to gain something, we're trying to lose something!

I have tried electrolysis which is expensive. I also use a pair of tweezers to get rid of any toughy ones which is a no no apparently but works.

That is what I thought

I’m naturally hairy and have been fully shaving my legs every day since I was about 12. I even did them when I dad a bath in hospital after just having my son. Medication from 17-22 made me hairier still, desperate Dan ( for those old enough to remember has nothing on me)! My face and neck is frankly furry! I bleach it and live with it but hate it 🐯

Luckily for me (ha ha!) I had underactive thyroid from abt age 45 - no probs re leg/ face hair growth - Slight lack of eyebrows and bushy hair thinning, but bearable. Until GCA/PM struck three years ago. Now have a dinky face shaver and try to ignore stubble - although there's always the rogue strong, wiry black hair that reveals itself when u think u've had quite a good day and folks have been looking at u with interest and approval…..these things are sent to try us. And they do! 🤣

I have a Phillips facial hair remover. It was about £20. It is good but my daughter decided to use it on my peach skin fluff. It removed it well but I ended up with slightly spiky regrowth! The first I knew about it was when my young granddaughter hugged me and said “Nanna, why have you got a beard?!” 🤣
