Three weeks ago, I had a call out of the blue from my rheumy's team offering me a face to face appointment this Friday! This was the first contact since 30 July last year. I thought I'd better get some bloods done and the results are in. I'd been worrying that they might want me to go back on steroids, but they've come back as:

ESR 2 (0-20) and

CRP <3 (<11)

so I think I might have got away with it. When originally tested at diagnosis, they were both sitting at 6, with the same reference ranges.

Incidentally, the neurologist believes I have trigeminal neuropathy, although my trigeminal nerve is not damaged or impinged in any way according to the scan. Having previously tried to get me on Gabapentin and heaven knows what else, she now offers no treatment and has discharged me 😀

An ultrasound scan yesterday revealed lovely, clear temporal and axillary arteries and this coupled with my blood test results and the [relative] ease with which I got off Prednisolone after only 15 months, leads the rheumy to believe now that this was not, and is not, GCA.

So that's that then.
