So glad for you Truckfoot! Take it steady and be aware of possible adrenal deficiency signs eg sick, dizzy, hot flush, abdominal pain, extreme fatigue. It takes about a year to recover. Report problems immediately.
So good to hear of your success, I was down to 2.5mg but had lots of stress that has sent me back to 5mg. I am hoping to start tapering again next week after the leak in the plumbing is fixed.
Yes, a plumbing leak will cause a lot of stress....I made the connection only about a year ago between stress and feeling worse, so have been working really hard meditating, counseling, everything to learn to deal with stress better
I am off 6 months off pred and just starting to feel my energy levels rise and feeling back to normal again so I would echo what others have said that recovery post pred is still a long haul but it is a good feeling to be off the pred. I still have aches and pains and I certainly feel my arthritis (both hips) more now but after a long period of feeling really let down and betrayed by my body I have learned to listen to it and to trust it. Certainly the aches tell me I need a warm bath and some stretches in the morning but they are nothing like pmr for which I am truly grateful. Vert best wishes for your continued recovery.
Really good to hear your news. Quite a milestone and reassuring to know that there is life after PMR. I started on 30mg January 2020 and down to 6.5mg now. Really struggling at times now but my rheumy says stick with it I will get there.
So glad to hear your news. After 4 weeks off pred I started cycling again. Felt so good started doing hills again …….. huge flare after that. So please rest more than you feel you want to. Hope my bad experience helps you. Now Covid jab has knocked me back again. Will cycle again one day. Good luck.
Wonder news! Approaching my 6 year anniversary soon with PMR…hope to eventually celebrate a time without it! I have gotten down as low as 2mg Prednisone but I’m currently working on tapering from 6mg . Grateful for my wonderful rheumatologist! Congratulations 🎈🍾🎉🎊 Truckfoot!
Very good news, wishing you good luck! I especially love reading those results, I am offPred since four months ( on for one year, started 50mg) and doing well, but progress is gradually. I had bad days and thought that’s a flare up , but the next day I felt very good again, fatigue being an substantial item, pain can be controlled with Arthritis medication taking it only if needed.
Wonderful news, I'm so pleased for you. This is the "light at the end of the tunnel" story I need at the moment.Having had a relatively easy journey down to 5mg over the first year. I'm now back up to 7mg and struggling on that. It's hard to imagine ever getting back to normal life.
I have been there and you will too.....i firmly believe a big part of this is your mind set, Ive done a lot of "attitude of gratitude" no matter how my bodyfelt.....anyway, good luck and keepsmiling
