Thank you for your replies. Just phoned my pre-op nurse and been told she’s off for a week, asked to speak to someone else and got nowhere. Phoned admissions and got nowhere, I’m not even sure I’m on a list for op. Don’t know where I go from here.
😡😟
Ps, they did say they would look into it, but they said that yesterday .

Admissions won't be able to help, I had a similar incident with my knee replacement a few years ago. They only get a communication from consultant's secretary to book you in (they don't see your file).....you need to go back to him/her and find out what's happening. If you look on hospital web site and for department/consultant, the info should be there...or failing that ring main switchboard and ask for relevant number
Yes, DL's right - the first place is the lot who compile the lists in the first place (and forgot you) and that is usually via the consultant's secretary, If that gets you no joy - in writing to the legal/complaints department with a cc to the CEO if you feel that is appropriate already.
But you need a "paper" trail - though in this day and age an email one does nicely.
NHS wasn’t all that good on external emails when I had issues, might be better now - unless you specifically say at outset that you want communications that way.
My issue was, saw surgeon a couple of days before I was flying to NZ - explaining I’d be away for 12 weeks - even gave nurse a copy of letter saying same for file - and could any communication be sent by email as post was being held by post office for the duration. Of course no one read or passed info to appointments department - so letters where sent and assumed I had ignored, so bumped off list for op! Was fuming when I got home and read - GP was not best pleased either and said she would wade in if necessary.
When I explained to appointments, they were sympathetic and explained that had they seen my file they would have emailed as requested. So I contacted surgeon’s secretary- not easy, part time only - still had to wait another 5 months though!
Daughter No 1 did all her complaint by email - don't know if she also send hard copy. But things have changed a lot since Covid. Don't know if they also worked from home. In your place - I'd have gone over the secretary's head to the complaints lot. Might have shortened the 5 months ...
I saw ophthalmologist on 14th January told had been added to list for cataract and wait was 3 months , phoned on 15 th June as non appointment and was told Consultant had forgotten to add me to his list , spoke to secretary last week, low and behold have my pre- op tomorrow, so it’s definitely worth keeping on at the relevant secretary , good luck , I hope they resolve the issue quickly xx
