After three and a half years - started pred on 20mg, plenty of ups and downs, diagnosed Coeliac, ankle surgery, leg ulcer treatment and more, here's my July calendar. Yippee!

Good luck - Prof Dasgupta said last summer that he often keeps patients on 2-3mg indefinitely as it is safe enough and reduces the risk of relapses. I think you can get lower than that if you are very careful about tapering at this stage - but it always pays to remember than as little as 1mg can be plenty to keep the inflammation under wraps but zero is a step too far!

Thank you, last year when I was down to 2mg I had a fall, so went back to 7mg while I recovered. I'm never again going to assume that the end of Pred is in sight! A small dose forever sounds fine to me 😊

I got PMR in Oct. 2017, diagnosed and started Pred in Feb 2018, started at 15mg, then 10,9,8 etc....
