Hopeful but still keeping fingers crossed!

I am today posting, to give hope to others on tapering plans!

After 4 years of first GCA followed by two bouts of PMR, my third attempt of tapering , continues to be promising. I chalk off a new week every Wednesday on my calendar and I have reached the ten week mark.

That is ten weeks of no prednisolone, calceos tablets and alendronic acid with no ill effects. True I have lost energy but also lost the feeling hungry mood and my blood sugar levels are now the lowest in four years and in the normal range.

I hope to post at some time in the future, that this time it is the real deal!

I'm nearly three years in to this journey with GCA.... your story gives me hope ! My pred. taper has been interrupted by three flares, but I carry on. My Rheumy started me on 20mg leflunomide a month ago and it seems OK. I hope you can keep marking your calendar on Wednesdays and would love to be able to do the same ! Best wishes, stay safe, Carole
