Finally- found just what I need.

".....You might think it relaxes you, but alcohol actually increases cortisol". aurorahealthcare.org/patien...

Apparently my cortisol production may have gone to sleep due to taking long-term replacement steroids. Cheers!

I has assumed acupuncture... or brussels sprouts.....or Scientology might be the cure.

Even alcohol won't increase your cortisol levels when you are taking more pred than the body would usually require in the form of cortisol to function! That's about 5mg pred for most people.

There are loads of posts explaining what happens to cortisol production in the body when you are taking pred - there are some in the FAQs - the link is at the top of Pinned posts as well as at the top of every thread.

I really like them and was eating lots in the Winter/ Spring- before I discovered that they are supposed to be an anti-inflammatory! Sadly out-of-season now. Leave more for me. :)

And me! Roasted they are wonderful. Or cooked in Riesling wine and topped with toasted almonds. Or mashed with cream and lots of black pepper ...
