I recently had my blood test done ,and I noticed on my blood test results that the CRP came up but the ESR went down has anybody had this?

That happens to me every now and then. I tend to ignore the CRP and ESR results if I feel OK though.

Unusual - but there are a few things that would affect CRP and probably not ESR even though the CRP contributes to the ESR reading.

I wish I could compare. Our lab will only do one or the other when it's for monitoring chronic condition.

No mine go the other way, CRP tracking downwards but ESR taking longer. CRP is quick reacting up or down, but ESR tends to indicate trend of disease, in our case inflammation. My GP says we should treat the illness not the figures. I have monthly blood tests and only reduce Pred if the figures are continuing in a downward trend. Currently on 8mg Pred, will reduce to 7.5mg if the blood results are going in the right direction. GP backs my 0.5mg reduction plan. I also mentioned the DSNS strategy and he approved, saying that’s a good idea. Great to have a switched-on GP. I’m lucky!
