Waiting results

Hi all. Had my weekly appointment early this wk due to my dr being on a course rest of the week. She sent me for hips x- ray she said it sounds like I might have a hip fracture so now another waiting game til results, just 1 thing after another.

Why does she think you have a hip fracture?

Hip pain which hurts to press or lie on that side, leg swelling, pain from hips round to bottom and stomach, shooting pain down leg after stood up for few minutes eg washing dishes, stairs. Personally I dont think it is fracture cause it the same both side just left side it worse

All that could happen with trochanteric bursitis - which is quite common in PMR.

Hi, You have my sympathy!I have spent the last three months thinking I had bursitis in my left hip, which my physio was treating. As we weren't making progress, she suggested an injection from my GP. GP wanted an X-ray first to see what was going on, and this showed that the hip replacement I had 14 years ago has worked itself loose, and is now in the incorrect position.

So, I have been referred to a musco skeletal consultant, whom I see a week on Friday.

Onwards and upwards, or should I say downwards!

At least I now know what has been causing me pain.

Wouldn’t an orthopaedic surgeon have been more helpful?

Possibly so, but the impression I got from my GP was that the guy I'm seeing is part of the team, and has an excellent reputation for people with the condition I have.So, it's a case of fingers crossed.

Had phone call of drs receptionist today with an appointment for tomorrow to discuss my x ray results, x-ray back to dr this quick in 2 days makes me wonder if it urgent cause usually it takes a wk or longer

Just spoke to dr about x-ray no break/fracture which I'm really glad about just inflammation so got to go up to 14mg and being referred to rhummy and blood tests in a month to see how much they changed on 14mg, and stop taking alendronic acid and try different one not sure what that 1 is called til I pick it up tomorrow but this 1 is once a day not weekly
