Clicking all over

I'm into my sixth month of PMR and tapering. Now on 7 mg per day. I am noticing much increased clicking all over but especially in the neck and head. Also increasing stiffness and pain in the shoulder and neck (one side). Normal or ominous?

See you mentioned this a month ago...is it still the same? worse? Did you do anything about it?

It's a bit difficult to answer as you have nothing on your profile to indicate any other health issue that might contribute to symptoms, but have to say at only 6 months into treatment you have got to 7mg very quickly.

As PMRpro mention in previous post, have you spoken to GP?

Hi Jezzard , I was thinking of asking the forum if anyone else experiences neck clicking and stiffness - I think it’s called crepitus. I don’t remember the neck clicking five months ago when PMR started, only the stiffness and shoulder pain. Now I crinkle with every head turn but worse in the morning. I’m on 9mg Prednisone hoping to go to 8 next week. I must admit that I was worried that it might be a precursor to GCA.

I was diagnosed with Cervical spondylosis and from time to time there is a kind of crunching in my neck. It pre-dates PMR but that and the passage of time hasn’t helped.

I am 4 years in to PMR. Developed clicking all around my neck around 6 months ago - felt as though I was about to fall apart! . Rheumy dismissed it as nothing to worry about. It has now eased off.
