Good morning. I’m finding that my joints click and crack all the time. Never used to notice before. Is this a symptom of a PMR flare, or nothing to worry about? Anyone else noticed this. Thanks in advance.

clicking and cracking joints
My Rheumatologist noticed this during her initial examination. She wasn't particularly interested in it and didn't link it to PMR.
Thank you.
it is the response to less muscle. In effect I believe that your muscles are both less in mass and also more relaxed. This is a direct result of pred. As a result they have less tension and your joints are looser and more flexible. If you did exercises to improve the tone and build back some muscle that would improve the condition.
It is quite normal - happens to lots of people, not just in PMR.
I often ‘click’ particularly in my neck, sometimes it is so loud others can hear it. I obviously need oiling!
thank you for asking this question as I have been finding the same , I also get back pain from time to time where I’ve overstretched muscles when I try n do “too much” and this confirms my theory I need to build up my muscle strength , so much to do n do work also 😂
Yes, but have been told it’s nothing to do with PMR, it’s other diseases I have managed to get since PMR diagnosed!!
yes I have noticed. It is recent. Don’t know what to do tho. Hope to see GP in a couple of weeks so was going to ask. Don’t hold out high hopes for answer tho cos most prob arthritis. I have a minimal in some small joints

It is bubbles of gas in the joints - normal and becomes more noticeable with age although if there is pain in the joints there may be something underlying it.
I sound very crunchy all over in my shoulders, and neck . My knee sometimes pops very loudly. Its called Crepitus. Its caused by tiny gas bubbles that form and collapse in the joints. It went away for awhile but came back.
Yes, my shoulders do it every time I move my arms even slightly, it does not hurt but is very annoying.
