please can anyone advise about Rheumatolgist

My granddaughter has been suffering from pain which seems to be rheumatic in origin, but her GP is mystified as it is atypical. When younger she was diagnosed with chronic pain syndrome.

Can anyone suggest a rheumatologist accessible in either London or South West of England please?

How old is your grand daughter. Has she had blood tests for rheumatoid arthritis? Is her pain joint pain or muscle pain?

Blood tests normal ruling out rheumatoid arthritis. GP thinks both muscle and joint pain.

It does sound very unlikely to be PMR. It could be fibromyalgia and possibly lots of other things

Is your daughter been taking any statin drugs for high cholesterol? Simvastatin was the beginning cause of my PMR. Same exact symptoms.

You’re probably right. But the more I can warn about Simvastatin, the better. It is an evil and unnecessary drug that no one should take.
