rheumatology.medicinematter...?

This applies to people with autoimmune disorders and who take other medications besides pred but it does suggest that we will develop a good level of immunity AFTER the second shot.

It must be emphasised - please do not rely on a single shot providing the level of immunity found in clinical trials which are ideal conditions not real life.

Was able to read the article with no problem. Felt the site would be worthwhile having access to. When registering I entered my email address. Beneath were a selection of one of two choices. One I was a healthcare provider and the other I wasn’t. I’m not. It came back stating registration only open to healthcare providers which I take issue with as imo scientific research findings should be open to all. Why the restriction. If I wanted to subscribe to the New England Journal of Medicine they’d take my money and say thank you.

I had no problem opening / reading the article - I'm in the UK.

Thank you. A bit early in the day for me to try to decipher scientific language (my excuse) but got the gist. 🙂

Thank you. That's good to read. I noticed it was the Pfizer vaccine, so let's hope the AZ behaves the same!

The other reports I have read started with Pfizer as it was the first to be used but over time the others were included too. UK data will be slow because of the 12 week delay between 1st and 2nd shots.

Thanks for this link. At least research is taking place and in time we should know more of the answers to our questions.

That's good news thankyou.

And once we get some longer term information we will know about booster requirements too.

It presumably applies also to AZ though it only mention MNRA vaccines?

Not necessarily but AZ started later so data is behind

Reassuring to hear 2nd jab is effective as I found out via a test for antibodies that even though I’ve had my first jab of the Pfizer vaccine I didn’t have enough antibodies to register on the test.
