Wow. I have had so many answers to my original post and thank you so much everyone who has bothered to reply. I really appreciate your efforts and encouragement. I am going to look further into Keto and the Fast 800. From a brief look I think the Fast800 may turn out to be the one as it seems to allow a little more carbohydrate and I think it might suit my digestive problems better. Thank you to S4ndy for mentioning the Fast800 cookbook which I have ordered from the library.
I’m sorry I can’t thank you all individually but reading your stories about your experiences with Pred has been so helpful. To know others are suffering and in some cases what steps they have taken is so motivating. I am very grateful to all of you.
My plan is to do the research, decide on the reducing method and then do the planning. This will take a little while but Easter is approaching and I have 2 Easter Eggs looking at me in the dining room so temptation must be removed first.
Time spent in planning is time well spent so I will let you know what I decide and how I get on in the hope it will help someone else
Good luck to all my fellow sufferers.

Good luck with your research, definitely agree that the Fast 800 range of books give you plenty of meal options.I've also found low carb bread, so you shouldn't have to change your breakfast routine. There's Hovis Seed Sensations, Hovis Lower Carb Deliciously Seeded Bread. Also Nimble and Weight Watchers both do bread which are around the 10 carb per slice. I have open sandwiches, so with only one slice of bread and then fill up on veg and protein.
You can also get lower carb crackers as well.
Once you've been on the low carb for a short while I found that the tremendous hunger goes.
Hi, I have been using the FAST 800 for about 5 weeks. Started at 88.4 kg and now at 84.4 so I am happy. I also use the MyFitnessPal app to track what I eat which is quite educational when aiming for 800 kcals. This app allows for deduction of Cal's used in walking or gardening etc. which helps encourage a bit of gentle exercise. The recipe book is excellent and has proved a source of many tasty meals. I will eventually switch to 5:2 but find the faster starting 800cal limit psychologically good to get you " in the mood" Best of luck
Yes, you are absolutely right planning is key. You cant do the diet unless you have the right stuff in your cupboards. But as I said Fast 800 does take alot of the worry out of it as, if you join the programme they have a settling in week during which i have to say I lost weight which was encouraging. Very best wishes.
