White spots

Anyone got any ideas. I have started developing “white spots” on my skin. They easily come off, but come back again. They appear to be located at hair follicles

No idea, but is it a hair root?

I took a look at a photo on the web and it looks like a white blob - tiny of course.

I put 'photos of hair roots' in the search engine.

I have a mystery skin thing going on and doctors are trying to tell me it is a type of folliculitis maybe pityrosporum because it is around hair follicles but I don't think it is as it looks nothing like the pictures I've Googled and it is not inflamed or itchy. It started on upper arms and upper legs and now it's all over my body. Other people on here have mentioned a similar rash. I'd describe mine as being like goosebumps or 'chicken skin' and another doctor said it might be Keratosis pilaris, see nhs.uk/conditions/keratosis...

I'm being referred to dermatology.

~How big are the white spots?

Best describe mine as fish scale size - they (white skin) peels off) and regrows.

Slowly creeping over torso and believe they are connected to auto immunity but can't say as no one has been able to give me a definite answer.

Not itchy, not sore nor red, just looks like loss of melanin in entire scale - I need to be mindful in sun not that I am a sun person.

Does that help?

Over the last year I began getting these little white raised raised spots on my face, eventually spoke to my doctor (couldn’t see him) so took myself to a dermatologist who diagnosed Ketatosis. Not much you can do about it but said rubbing on Vaseline softens them down and then after time rubbing them gently with a wet flannel to break the heads off ( he called it cosmetic gardening!). The worst one he sprayed with nitrogen - got to go back in six weeks. He didn’t think it was steroid related as I thought probably it was, yet another, of pred side effects.

Not what you're looking for?
