Update on my previous DEXA post

I have finally managed to get the actual results of my DEXA scan, think my Docs admin department have been going through an "interesting" time recently. Anyway

My Lumbar Spine Z score was 0.5, T score was 0.3. BMD = 1.237

Total Hip. Z score was 0.0, T score was - 0.2, BMD = 0.978

Well that is as good a reason as any for refusing alendronic acid!!!!

Oh they look good. Im getting mine on Monday, seriously butterflies that it is at least no worse than last one (which was ok but 3 years ago). The rheumy is going mad to get me on bone meds. I will not take them unless absolutely necessary! Congrats to you.

I had that feeling too! I'd had to give up the calcium supplements and also got lazy about walking - and then I got the results which I thought looked bad. The local osteoporosis expert didn't though - said she had never seen results like that from a patient on pred and just to carry on!
