Positive outcome

Had a telephone consultation with my rumy on Monday inflammation markers down enough to start reducing steroids 5mg per week looks like the Tocilìzumab is going to work for me next treatment Monday 15th March. I am a little concerned about the light sensitivity in my left eye the 1 I lost the sight in so I am going to make an appointment with my Ophthalmologist an hopefully can see him soon. Still look like a puffer fish but at least it hides the wrinkles hahaha. Helps me to stay happy by doing my hair putting on a bit of lippy and some jewellery even if I am not leaving home.

I wish well as you go forward and I applaud you for embracing the puffer fish look. 🙂

When on tocilizumab the ESR and CRP (in particular) are meaningless - except to show it is stopping an enzyme pathway involved in making CRP. It doesn't mean the disease process is inactive. there are other inflammatory pathways involved in some cases (about half) so if you get symptoms back, don't let anyone tell you it isn't the GCA.

All the best with it,
