Fingers crossed

Woke up on Saturday morning with bad pain in the outer corner of my with pain radiating up to sinus area and a mild headache. Sunday no better and spotting pains in right ear. Saw the doc this morning and she has put me on 40mg of pred and made an urgent referral to optomology, waiting for the phone call. Bloods also being taken. She also spoke to the Rheumatologyteam and although we all don’t think it’s GCA they are playing safe. Not to keen on going up to 40mg but hopefully only for a couple of days.

Good to know that your GP is on the ball.

Very sorry to hear of this latest trouble for you but very glad the new lady doctor is acting quickly for you. I have spoken to her a few times ( I am assuming it is the same one, who has replaced our retired GP, who spoke very highly of her) and she does seem really helpful, even though I haven’t yet seen her. Fingers crossed they get you sorted out very quickly and it sounds wise to up your dose, just in case.

Thanks Liz, it was a locum I saw, Dr Hyatt, as Dr Fell doesn’t work on a Monday. She was very thorough and I was in with her for almost 1/2hr. Got my appointment at Treliske for Wednesday morning and had bloods this afternoon.

Gosh Griggser, that was very impressive! The very best of luck for your Wednesday appointment at Treliske and also your blood results. Do keep us posted about what they discover and fingers crossed it isn’t GCA. Think, like me, you are just battling on and only hoping it will, before too long, burn itself out. Totally frustrating!

Wishing you the best of luck! As someone who fell foul to snakes and ladders 40 mgs was actually not too bad. 🍀

Like Liz, I was very sorry to see your post yesterday but thank goodness the GP has reacted so quickly. Good luck & keep us posted!

Thanks Pollyanna16. Tomorrow can’t come quick enough, it’s quite painful and zapain is not touching it. The doc rang me back yesterday to make sure I had appointment and said have a low threshold about going to A&E if it gets worse.
