Oh!....I don't know how I missed this post but only just spotted it!! Really pleased for you. You'll have to be up and out early on those moors with the dogs on Sunday!! Good luck.🙂

My appointment is for noon today. As my friend next door pointed out I am 5 days older so I'm 5 minutes earlier than she is 😄

I've got mine today at 5.30! Then zooming for an early Burns night supper with all our Scottish friends with readings from Robbie Burns. That will stop me worrying about jab's reaction if any!! Bring on the haggis....

Sounds exciting, can't remember when I last had Haggis

Haggis, neeps and tatties with a bit of whiskey over it! We love it although we aren't Scottish.

Whisky (no 'e') unless you’re using the Irish stuff! 😉Enjoy! And good luck with the vaccine too of course!

Great zoom evening. Sorry I put the e in whisky!! Can never remember which it is! Jab fantastic. 2 mins, no queuing.

I can only buy it in a tin (we live in Germany). I always keep one in as we both like it. Have to add fried onions and a little beer gravy to make it at least "resemble" the original.

I've never had GRAVY with haggis - that's like the disgusting habit of gravy on schnitzel ...

I know - but you should see the colour of the tinned stuff - a mucky grey!! It tastes alright though. Not a Scot of course so only eaten the real stuff twice (years ago). Anyway - it does us.😂

Agreed! No gravy!! 🤢

I have brought a haggis back home with me for years when in the UK - 1 gives me 4 nice meals. Never again thanks to Brexit. :(

Can't the big !A! deliver you some?

PMRpro profile image
PMRproAmbassador in reply toBcol

No - even my daughter can't even send me English cheese or meat products anymore. Imports of dairy and meat products from third countries are illegal. The cheese bit is likely to send smaller companies to the wall - an "oversight"on the part of the negotiators it seems according to DEFRA which is unlikely to be remedied in the foreseeable future. So said a Cheshire cheese producer on FB yesterday to explain to (now former) customers all over EUrope. I'm hoping the big suppliers can manage cheese to Austria but not holding my breath!

I think a number of the home truths about Brexit are, and will continue to come to the fore. All those things we were promised it would have no effect on!!!! I was going to add a few comments about politicians but decided I had better not!!

And no-one is coming on holiday yet! Think of all those campervan and caravan fridgefreezers that arrived here full of M&S pies, bacon and cheese to keep them going for the duration!! They'll have to eat local food ;) And no ham or cheese sandwiches for lunch on the first day - jam and marg will have to be packed ...

I know! Can't get cheese from the English shop over here now.😟

I was told last year that Aldi had cheddar - though it might have been Aldi Sud - but since Aldi is also in the UK I'm sure they have a wholesale set-up which should be OK. It is the individual small supplier/customer that is stuck.

You can (or could) get cheddar in quite a few of the larger shops here . Unfortunately always "wrapped" so not the same.😟 There's a marvellous choice of other cheeses from the rest of Europe though.

Some of the wrapped ones are very good these days. Oh yes, no shortage of cheese here but really not quite the same for certain purposes! Apparently a French restaurant is upset - because the Cheshire cheese was a special ingredient for the house special rarebit!
