Advice On AMJEVITA Please.

Morning to you all, I am from PMR/GCA community.

Looking for advice from anyone with experience of AMJEVITA.

I am asking this on behalf of a friend who is about to start on it, but is very concerned about side affects. She has already been on other Biologics that have ended up with bad side affects.

Any help would be much appreciated as she is in a really bad way at the moment. She will be able to read your replies as she is a member.

Hi,

What is your friend being treated for? If not PMR/GCA then one of the other forums might be more help...RA, Crohns etc.

RA, I posted in NRAS site, or thought I had as logged into that site.Better check, mentioned PMR to show I wasn’t a follower of NRAS. But an HU member.

Looks like I have complicated matters.

Think you need to join NRAS forum (temporarily) to post the question and get answers.

You can always "unjoin" afterwards.

I doubt there are many on here who are on it as it is a TNF-inhibitor - it is what is called a bio-similar and is much the same as Humira. TNF-inhibitors don't work in PMR/GCA - biologics are very specific in their action and the TNF factor isn't involved in PMR.

But asking for others experiences isn't always helpful - everyone responds differently to each drug. At least there were 5 anti-TNF drugs and the number is growing - and they are all a bit different.

We don't mind you asked - just it's unlikely anyone here knows enough to help
