We're delighted to announce our first members' webinar of 2021. Consultant rheumatologist Dr Sarah Mackie will be giving a talk on adrenal insufficiency in PMR and GCA on Monday 1st February at 8pm GMT.
It is a members only event and to register you will need to email webinar@pmrgca.org.uk with your name and membership number. The webinar will take place over Zoom and links to the talk will be sent out on Friday 29th January.
If you're not a member but would like to apply, it's not too late to join the charity. You can do that here pmrgca.org.uk/how-to-help/b.... Once you've joined you can email membership@pmrgca.org.uk for your membership number (although do allow 48 hours for your membership number to be issued).

Hi scats, I'm waiting to find out whether it will be available after at all. There will be a write up in NewsWire if you get that? Sorry the timing isn't great for you - Sarah Mackie has a very busy schedule and is fitting this in in her personal time.
Hi FranAny chance some of it will be put into print. I am deaf so find zoom quite difficult because people move around and turn their heads. I lip read. Just thought I would ask . Thank you
Hi suffererc, there will be a write up in NewsWire - if you're a member you'll get a copy of that - next one due in April. It might be worth registering and seeing how you get on. I don't know whether Sarah will move about or not. Also do you watch on a tablet or pc and if so, would using headphones help rather than the inbuilt speakers? (I realise this won't work if you are profoundly deaf but if you have some hearing, a decent pair of headphones (not necessarily expensive) are often better than standard speakers.
Sarah really doesn't tend to move around a lot in meetings - she sits looking into the camera most of the time unless she is screen sharing in a powerpoint presentation and then you don't see her.
Hi Suffererc, I'm looking into whether we can get software to provide live captioning. I can't guarantee it will be possible for this meeting but there is a chance and if not for the meeting, possibly for the recording. I don't want to raise your expectations in case it isn't available but wanted to let you know in case it is. It might be worth you registering for the meeting just in case.Fran
Hi Fran. Thank you for all you are doing. How do I find my membership number please. I did receive it in an email and wrote it down but have since lost it .
Hi Bachblues, if you send an email with your membership number to webinar@pmrgca.org.uk and say that you can't attend but would like a link for the video - it will be available for members for a limited time.
Hi HelenDaisy, if you have ticked to receive emails from us, then you should have had an email yesterday and that would have your membership number. If not, message me privately with your real name and I'll look it up for you on Monday.
Hi Janstr, if you are a member of the charity you would have received a welcome email shortly after you joined and that email will have your membership number. (Being a member of the charity is separate to being a member of our forum on HealthUnlocked.)
If you have joined the charity, message me with your name and I can look it up for you.
Hi Roryfederer, either in your welcome letter (UK based) or welcome email (international) and your annual renewal docs.
This applies to members of the charity - so if you have paid and joined you will have one but if you can't find it, then message me with your real name and post code and I can look it up for you. If you are simply a member of our forum here on HealthUnlocked then you won't have one - but you are welcome to join and this will give you access to our webinars and magazine.
An update regarding video captioning (subtitles). I'm really sorry, I haven't been able to sort this in time for Monday's meeting. A combination of cost and technology issues. I'm still looking into whether it will be possible to add captions to the video which will be avaialble for 2 weeks afterwards for charity members.
