dry eyes
Here is a raft of questions. Do your eyes feel or look any different apart from wanting to close? Do they do this all the time? How do you feel other than your eyes? Are you sure you are not just getting the low adrenal function effect? Have you tried resting when this happens and if so, do you fall asleep or just konk out for a bit?
Happens to me too, especially late afternoon - and I don't think it is adrenal function as I'm on plenty of pred!! On the other hand - left to my own devices I could read for hours.
Could it be dry eyes - that makes mine feel tired.
Like PMRPro said....could it be dry eyes?I've had this problem intermittently and makes my eyes feel heavy and as if I want to close them. Of course, some days there will be genuine fatigue involved also....particularly if I've not slept well or overdone it the day before. This seems to aggravate the dry eye problem further. I usually find some over-the-counter eye drops from the pharmacy for a few days help
I use micellar water to cleanse my eyes plus Systane Balance eye drops 2 or 3 times a day. Systane make various types of eye drops but the Balance ones are the most effective (as recommended to me by an optometrist)
If it’s dry eyes - I use Optrex Intensive Dry eye drops three times a day
I suffer from dry eyes and I use Optrex Actimist spray. I find this easier for me than drops as I have arthritic shoulders and find it difficult to do drops. I've tried lots of different drops/sprays and found this one to suit me. Everything goes blurry if I let them get too dry so use your chosen drops/spray regularly. Hope you find something to help. I would suggest getting your optician to give your eyes a once over if this is a new thing for you just in case there's anything else causing your problem.
