Hi friends I've had a really bad day today. I changed my tablet time from evening about 5.pm to lunchtime 1 pm to see if it helped me sleep. Its seemed to work a bit better last night and then this morning about 10 am very bad neck pains right into the back of my head and so shaky once again. I am on 19 mg from 20 mgs this month. It has lasted most of the day but easing a a little now that I am sitting down. Balance was bad too. After 3 weeks of being diagnosed with PMR I got a phone call from the Dr to say I was very low on Vit D which I am now taking. Just wondering if I am overdosing on things. I'm drinking lots. Anyone else had anything like this. Dr is ringing me on 23rd to see how I'm getting on plus I have got my Covid JAB on that day. Bit worried about it all with very little help other than you people on this Forum who are experiencing PMR and know what a it is all about. My Dr did tell me to look this forum up and and I'm so glad I did. Your all so helpful especially to a newcomer. Many thanks
Badd

I know you’ve changed timings to help with sleep, but it probably hasn’t helped overall....taking it 4 hours earlier, means the effect runs out 4 hours earlier...does that make sense? So you feel “off” earlier in the day, when you may be slightly more active.
As you’ve only been on 19mg for about a week, might mean that even though it’s only 1mg it might not be quite enough...
Or with the timing change and the dose change you might need to give it a few more days to see if things improve. Best not to try and make too many changes at once.
Worrying about the Covid jab as well isn’t going to help, PMR just loves stress.
You have another day or so before you speak to GP, so see how it goes, but do discuss it with him.
Yes I did wonder about that. The four hours difference I mean. I hope I haven't confused things but I have been on the 19mg all of Dec and it was from the advice that you gave me not to come down to fast and do a month at a time at least. Your advice was so valuable as the Dr went from 20 to 15 overnight. Made me ill.I really wished I hadn't changed the time but my sleep was about 2 hours night and I found that so exhausting during the day with jobs to do and caring for husband. I shall have to see how things go tomorrow as to whether I go back to the later time. Thanks for your reply. Always good to have. I have loads of notes for the GP when she phones.
Hello Cosmos - I read your story with interest I do hope you are on the improve - I have had head and neck pains but I only take Oroxine about the same time every morning. I realise you are on different medication but it is quite odd we have similar ailments.Mine started in September went to doctor and took a course of antibiotics for a week at my suggestion seemed to come good -after the weeks course it came back with a venegence - the pain went from the top of my spine around to the right of my neck into my right ear and caused deafness gradually my hearing came back not as good as it used to be - still have pain in neck and head from time to time it seems to travel around the neck area and my neck glands swell . I rub Magnesium oil into the neck and must admit it does give me a lot of relief. I have heard of other people having a similar complaint I do hope you and all the readers have a lovely Xmas and a Healthier and Happy New Year. It has been a different 2020 so hope we will get some normality in 2021. .
Many thanks for your reply. It always helps when you know your not the only one with these problems doesn't it. My pain is like yours affecting the same areas and causing some deafness plus my vision is bad. My Dr is phoning me tomorrow so I will have plenty to tell her. I will try the oil you recommended and hope it works for me as well. Better health for us all next year and hope I get my covid done tomorrow. I am still a bit apprehensive about getting it done with all these problems but it's a must really isn't it. Thanks again.
