Dividing my prednisone

Sorry to hassle Everyone again🙈😢but I divided my prednisone to 7mgs when I woke up at 6pm ( I wrk night duty as a nurse) then took my other 3mgs at 3.30am this definitely helped with my pain but I was ohh soo tired 💤 this never happened when I took all at 6pm has this happened to anyone else x TIA 😘😘😘😘

Oh Maggie69 - you may just be exhausted. I don’t know how you keep going. 7 mgs might put your system on alert, because it is near the point that a Cortisol shortage will be felt but then you take 3 mgs - so that guess doesn’t hold water. Have you considered the dreaded ( COVID) or maybe some other virus?Never ever a hassle - just want you to be well.

Difficult to say because your timings are so different from the natural circadian rhythm. I have to say, I don't know how you can manage to work nights and combine it with pred. Normally shiftwork is not recommended when on pred.

I wonder if you might do better by taking the larger part closer to when you start work and the rest later enough to carry you over the 24 hours? It isn't something many people will have experienced - I can only remember one other person working nightshifts on the forum. And a friend from another forum who was excused shift working with Customs & Excise because of the pred.

Think you might need to give it a few days to see if body adjusts.....as PMRpro says it’s difficult for us to give better advice, as not, nor ever have been in same situation.
