The side effects/symptoms you describe do get better in time.

But there is no point in getting annoyed with not being able to do what you could. You do have a serious systemic diseases and therefore you need to accept that life is different.

It won’t be like that forever, at least our illnesses usually go into remission unlike many others. Just be patient - and enjoy what you can actually do!

Hi Flosys

It’s very hard isn’t it, you’re suddenly not the person you were but as DL says we have to adapt, being annoyed/stressed is not good for us, especially as that uses up a lot of vital energy.

Acceptance is the key, l could never get anything out of a bottom cupboard so had to rearrange the kitchen (with help) & bedroom drawers, easy access for what l wanted or needed.

I could not walk far without getting out of breath & found l most certainly could not walk & talk!......

How’s your weight since you’ve been on Pred as if it’s increased that will also make you out of breath, so keep an eye on your Carb intake.

It will improve.

Best Wishes

MrsN

Not to mention PMR feeding on stress ...

But of course, l find it best not to get worked up on a subject, hence l’m NOT watching the News! 😉

The first step of living well with any chronic disease is acceptance. That isn't giving in, it is acknowledging that things have changed and need a different outlook. It happens in everything in life - but mostly there are ways around it.

I am currently on 6mg a day. Unfortunately the head sweats haven't changed from higher doses. I look like I've just got out the shower. I don't seem to get them as often though. Usually in the morning a couple of hours after taking my Pred

I don't generally get out of breath unless I am doing something strenuous, by which I mean walking round a supermarket or taking the dog out. It is very annoying but accepted this and can only hope it does eventually go away. Can't wear makeup much as it just melts off 🤣
