How do we know when it's time to renew membership?

I've lost my records and can't remember renewal dates. I see that the fee is still only £15, shouldn't it be higher? You do so much to help us all I don't know how the organisation manages to survive without depending on so much good will.

You should get a letter or email. Then the easiest thing to do is raise a direct debit! No need to remember then!

in reply toDorsetLady

Thanks...my problem is I have to ensure the cash goes out when I have it ...yearly direct debits have got me bank charges worth more than the bill they paid ?!

Oops! The banks are revising their actions on overdraft charges by order of FCA.

Because I’m on fixed income (pension) - have 2 accounts - one for all DD etc - and transfer set amount from current ac into that one every month to cover.

in reply toDorsetLady

Yes. I have a seperate account that all my gas electric etc but it sails close to the wind if the DD come at 28days. Just had to set a 50plus a month up for the veg boxes!! I would spend less that on veg usually but as organic. You would think I would be saving money being stuck in but having to get stuff delivered costs. The extra £4 here and there does add up doesn't it! Hoping come 9th my bank account has a rest IF the shopping I ordered comes.

Yes, that's probably sent all our budgets out the window! But I guess we’re saving on petrol - and other things - in my case - coffee! But more in the shopping trolley!

in reply toDorsetLady

Barclays won't charge me this month...🤣😂🤣

Thanks!

Hi there,

Fran_Benson manages our membership - if you privately message her on this forum by chat or by email at fran@pmrgca.org.uk and give your name and/or membership number, she will be able to let you know when your membership is due.

Thank you too for your message about our fee - we like to keep it low in order that everyone can afford our subscription. What would be great if we had more people who become members of the charity. For anyone who reads this and wants to join the charity you just need to go to this link - pmrgca.co.uk/membership-app... or message me or Fran!

with best wishes,

Candy

Yes so agree, anyone who’s reading this forum and getting help please join, only £15 a year! Equals 6 cups of coffee - as as we can’t go out now think what you've saved on them..

Think it’s only UK members who can join ....but as the saying goes “every little helps”

Yes - I've tried but can only choose UK & America.

I did that some while ago, DL, and Fran was extremely helpful. Trouble was, although I sent a bank draft/money order in sterling ( I live in Canada ) the cost of processing it in UK bank costs most of it and we could find no way around that. I just wanted to join/donate/help as a sign of my appreciation.

No that’s an issue - I had to transfer some money into my daughter NZ bank account once - and both parties pay.

Normally I transfer into her UK account which she keeps going for that reason, as do her sons - but as they are all still UK citizens it legal -but have NZ residency so okay.

I am a dual citizen but no longer have nor need a bank account in UK. I am hoping the use of PayPal will be addressed. It seems I am not the only one who would like to contribute to a cause we appreciate, but at the moment can't.

Do they not have PayPal or something of the sort?

Might be worth highlighting to Fran - I think she’s the membership guru nowadays.
