Early days on high doses my readings were slightly abnormal - but nothing to worry about, and they did return to normal as I reduced Pred.

I developed chronic kidney disease while on steroids, CKD Stage 3A.

At what age though? And what was the reading?

"Following the classical way, we can assert that normal GFR values are largely over 60 mL/min/1.73 m2 in healthy subjects, at least before the age of 70 years. However, we know that GFR physiologically decreases with age, and in adults older than 70 years, values below 60 mL/min/1.73 m2 could be considered normal."

In my 60s, currently GFR 46. Creatinine 104. It looks like it was updated to my on line patient records by a receptionist, I was never contacted by GP. I only saw it by mistake about a year later.

What are the figures - and do you know what they were pre-PMR?

Years ago before PMR I had bad kidney infection and numbers went down but no problems since that I knew of. GFR is 53 and Creatinine is 1.16, my GP called yesterday and said that my numbers were low this time last year and then went back up so they are going to check blood work in 3 months to see if there is a change.

At least they have noticed!!!

I've just checked my last blood test reading (I always ask for a copy) my serum creatinine level was 84 umoI/L range should be (45 - 84) so I'm high too. Hopefully, my next blood test this month will see it's dropped as I've reduced the steroids.
