Awful head sweating during hot weather or any exertion

Any advice about profuse head sweating during the hot weather. Any exercise or

We had this conversation in the heat last year and found gel filled neckerchiefs on Amazon. You put them in the fridge ( or was it the freezer?)and then round your neck when really chilled. Mrs Nails made her own glamorous ones. I never used to sweat at all, my head does now though. The standing fan in my bedroom helps.

Hi Pink, when it's hot, My head sweats profusely. I routinely wear a bandana, ala athletic headbands. Keeps water from dripping into my eyes, and keeps my glasses from getting wet.

Not an uncommon problem with PMR and prednisone.

just drink enough water with electorates and don't worry about it! This is how your body controls the temperature or you would "overheat". It is normal with or without PMR. I carry damp towel around the neck to refresh and wipe sweat off to make it more comfortable.

As Jane says there was a right little band of us last summer suffering greatly 🥵 sometimes like someone had thrown a bucket of water over us! The cooling neck bands help, l find it’s worse when my steroid dose is too low or l’m short of steroid ie done too much for the day!

As Jane says l ordered some of the granules & made a couple to match my clothes, actually l could now do with a matching set now, headband, mask & neckerchief, très chic 😉

As Nick says - normal in these sort of temperatures whether you have PMR, take pred or not! It's how you don't overheat.

I get it when it’s not hot, too! Late morning, usually, every pore in my head opens and water pours out. It’s revolting, annoying & altogether horrible. It’s another side effect of the Pred, I guess. I have the problem at night, too & sleep with a thin beach towel over me. I have an old tea towel I grab to mop up! Will try the gel filled thingies, I’d forgotten about those, will buy one, thanks. It’s not particularly worse during this heat wave. I’ve had two bouts of dehydration this summer, & had to increase fluid intake, too. The dehydration lead to tonsil stones, which are unpleasant. I suffer badly with head sweats irrespective of the weather, most unpleasant. Amazon are selling portable neck fans , my daughter bought me one. It is amazing , I was sceptical to start with but it works really well. I bought my sister one , she loves it. They are USB rechargeable.

They look like headphones .

Don't sleep on a memory foam pillow. Last night while I lay in bed awake I could not figure out why my face was running with perspiration....then it dawned on my I sleep on a memory foam pillow.

I think all you can do is get through this weather, sit in shade, tepid showers....

I use “Cool It Mama” spray - designed for pregnant women but works for me!

Remembered another cooling product! Hubby reminded me this morning that a few years ago when I was commuting into the City I bought some “Hot Girls Pearls” - bracelet and necklace in grey pearl - to keep me cool on the train and tube. I am retired now and had forgotten all about them. We found them at the back of a cupboard and bunged them in the freezer - and now they are so cool. Such a relief! 😃🧊 x
