My naturopath drew blood for my thyroid and ANA test last week. Got the results today and no surprise but thyroid's way out of wack. New prescriptions should help get me closer to where I need to be. BUT the surprise, to me anyway, is that my ANA is negative. I asked the doc then about my PMR since it is considered an autoimmune issue so maybe my problem ISN'T PMR??. She said that PMR is different. Sorta operates outside the box. Does anyone have a better explanation? Thank heavens no autoimmune though.

ANA can be positive or negative either way and it is rarely raised in PMR though it can be.

And it doesn't mean you don't have an autoimmune disorder just because it is negative - PMR is autoimmune for a start.

as I am fit to burst! Maybe Dorset Lady was right, and that I have untreated PMR.
