I thought it was only in Scotland, but your experience is the same as mine.
However take great care with steroids.
I was on maximum dosage for sometime due to GCA, a few months in I was diagnosed with osteoporosis I have since had a total hip replacement albeit successful. I think now I may have PMR I would be nervous to take steroids although they saved my sight and maybe even my life.

PMR and GCA are the same disorder. This PMR could be the start of another lot of GCA - untreated PMR is much more likely to progress to full-blown GCA.
I had an X-ray before being diagnosed with GCA it was clear ,however I was on the steroids at 60mg for some time before reducing the dosage I do think they were responsible.
However I do understand that the medics have to weigh up the consequences to treat or not, with your sight or mobility at stake as I said just be careful.
