I can barely see to write or type

I am so sorry to be a nuisance. A short while ago I went to type on my laptop and I could barely see what I was typing at q00% zoom, the same on my tablet. I went to 200% zoom and still struggling plus my head hurts. I am on my phone which i can see but my head still hurts.

My glasses are useless and I can see a bit better without these but i am struggling. I've phoned the hospital again and waiting for a callback.

My sight is going downhill rapidly, pls any advice would help

I'm no expert, but think advice will be on here to go to A&E!....good luck....

I’m only PMR, but like Longtimer suggested, sounds like you need an emergency hospital visit or a call to what ever your emergency number is. My best.

Pred can mess with focus horribly but if your head is hurting as well I’d go to A&E. if your eyes are going downhill in the space of hours get there very soon. Make not of any other features like spots and sparks etc in your vision.

If all else fails - call the emergency services. I wouldn't have been waiting for anyone to call me back - I would be at A&E/ED. Paramedics in Yorkshire are taught to recognise possible GCA - and visual loss can have other causes, all of which are emergencies.

Please let us know you went soon enough and are ok ? Push hard for immediate attention ! Please !

do you have GCA or PMR or both ?? Could be GCA causing your eye problem, but Pred certainly messes with my eyes and very blurry without glasses on.

Good luck

If too much time is passing and you don’t have a lift, phone for an ambulance you are perfectly justified with what is at stake right now. Wishing you well!!!

All these wise folks have tried to emphasize the importance of getting to the hospital... Nothing is accomplished or helped by waiting...time for a face to face~! They cannot tell you anything for certain over the phone.

Hopefully, you take charge and get an answer....for your sake.

I'm back because I just read your first post....I'm blind in one eye because the doctors messed around for just a week....taking steroids may have some issues but it beats being blind. GO~!

My doctor gave me a letter and sent me off to A&E, although eye sight was not key issue my head aches were. Got sorted and an ultra sound for GCA arranged for next day. Didn't have CCA. Good luck.

Definitely go to A & E. When I was diagnosed my G.P told me i needed to be in the eye clinic in1 Hour. I was put on 80mgs of Pred and told to take it before I left the pharmacy ,,,,, it's that urgent. I did and avoided sight loss - this was Nov 2019 ... I am now trying to get down to10mgs but everyone says 'the slower the better' so don't be bullied off the Pred too soon. Prayers and best wishes.

You must go to A & E as soon as possible.

You need immediate assessment & care.

Don't delay.

Have you someone that can take you?

If not , ring for an ambulance or a taxi.

Good luck
