I am sure I read somewhere that people in risk groups should avoid contact with children but now I can't find it.
I usually look after my 10 yr old grandson on Sundays and know I won;t be in my daughter's good books if I say I can't do it so I want some written proof to show her. Did anyone else read this?

No reason per se to avoid unless he had been in contact with anyone suspected of having virus at school or other activities. Although children do seem to spread these things!
However it is your choice, and if you are concerned then tell your daughter so - if she doesn’t like it, then she doesn’t like it! Your health has to come before her wishes this time so try and explain rationally your concerns.
I can't say I have noticed anything in what I have read. The only limitation I have seen for risk groups so far is advice in the high risk "red" areas in northern Italy that over 65s should remain at home - but that is in a region where the spread is active and high.
The official line is that no concern is required at present - unless someone is displaying symptoms or has possibly been in contact with others who have tested positive then there is nothing to fear. Since the official info here in Italy is that half of patients who have tested positive have no symptoms I do wonder a bit about either statement although I assume they were tested as contacts here which is how they found them. One problem appears to be that children seem to have it very mildly - so you might not realise they were ill at all.
However - if it is making you unhappy, explain it to your daughter. I know neither of mine would have expected me to have our lot if I was worried, It may not please her in the short term - but how might she feel if any of you did catch it?
Here in Japan it seems that mortality rate from corona virus in the age group below 65 is equivalent to what it is from flu (1-1.5%), BUT in the age group of 70+ is as high as 3.5% and whomever gets infected with virus in over 70-75 age group, the death rate is pretty high (25-30%). Number of infected people here is 1000+ , but most of them (800) are from that cruse ship that initially got released because they did not show any symptoms. So initial error of keeping everyone together on the ship got compounded with release of those people into general population.
The good news is that they have discovered that treatment for asthma also helps with corona virus. I will post more details when I get proper translation.
Hi Nick! Wow! ANY good news would cheer people up at the moment. Thanks!💥💥
Surely your daughter will understand if you have to cancel. I did see something that said isolate only if school closed etc. But a couple of weeks respite should be acceptable if you feel the need. Ditto pmrpro comments.
I’ve not seen anything specific about avoiding children, have you tried Googling it?
I am a teacher and I'm around a class of 10 year olds all day. I am currently on 35mg of pred but feel ok in myself. Medication is being reduced as only recently been diagnosed. I was worried about being around children but my school has adopted a robust policy of hand washing at various points in the day and we are monitoring the school community. I also have my own teenage children who are also adopting a high level of hygene. I feel fairly safe so far but am keeping an eye on things to see how they develop.
Thanks you everyone for your helpful comments. I know that 2 children in his senior school are at home as the family came back from Italy after half term. But he only goes over there once a week for his orchestra practice - so perhaps minimal risk.
I think because I had a day on my own at home yesterday I started to overthink everything - been out today and feel more positive (apart, that is, from seeing a woman on the bus , fortunately several seats away from me,who was actually picking her nose, I thought the advice against that was meant to be facetious - perhaps not!)
I did have a little "yuk excuse me" loud voice moment at a man sitting in the waiting room at the dental. Hospital picking his nose, eating it them rubbing the chairs next to him. I honestly nearly threw up. 🤮

Now you can all join me on throwing up. There I wS with my tissues that I put in a poo bag if I just held them!!!
Yeuch! 🤢 Because of all the discussion about this on here over the last couple of days I was actively observing people while I was at work today, and some people truly have some disgusting habits.....the hygiene message doesn’t seem to be getting through to everyone does it!?
There was a clip of a well known Tory politician doing just that in the House of Commons during a debate just a few months ago, so, yes sadly they do! 🤢
It was actually on tv and everywhere on twitter so I’m not making it up! Every time I saw it I felt like throwing up. You’d think that people who work somewhere where they’re being filmed might be a bit more careful even if they usually do disgusting things like that at home wouldn’t you!? 🤢
