Has anyone else found reasonably priced travel insurance? My quotes since reaching 73 and listing polymyalgia are sky high. More than the cost of a flight to some places!
I’ve had some great tips and advice from you all. Many thanks!

I pay monthly on my bank account for travel insurance and find it a lot cheaper than a stand alone policy even though they have added onto the premium to take our age and medications into account. He didn’t seem unduly alarmed by my PMR diagnosis and said only to add it
On when I actually booked my next holiday and needed the cover as the additional premium would start then. (Nationwide Flexiplus account but most banks do it) .
Most Banks provide good cover.
I used to use a Broker when I travel. The same one I still use for Insurance of other kinds, especially house insurance.
I use LV - have other insurance with them.
Depends where you are going - and sometimes an annual one is cheaper than a single journey. Mad I know, but that’s how it is. Plus if you get world wide cover without America it’s lots cheaper than with!
You are likely to find insurance much higher after 70 anyway - but soon the cost of European cover will rise when the EHIC ceases to apply. The cost of a flight is peanuts compared to potential medical bills in much of the world.
It’s not cheap but I found annual cover for I think @ £150 w Axa.
I get free travel ins to Europe with Nationwide Flexi and still get it when declared pmr.
Try Avanti, this is online company who specialise in people with medical conditions. I used them last year for a trip to France.
However, my hubby found them more expensive (he has type 2 diabetes) and he used Insure and Go another online company. I found all these companies from Martin Lewis's website:
There's a whole section on the site about travel insurance for people who have preexisting conditions. Very useful site.
