GP on the ball

When to my GP on Friday for unrelated consultation and as I was feeling what I thought was A flare coming on asked his thoughts on increasing my pred from 8.5 -10 , he immediately asked me to take my glasses off , spotted my blackness round my right eye asked about jaw and neck pain , felt my temple which was sore and low and behold , told me he suspects TA and has put me on 30 mg pred and is going to ring me on Tuesday to see how I'm coping and feeling to decide on either up or reduce but slowly , he also told me he thinks ultrasound is the way to go re diagnosis and is hoping to undergo training to be able to do said ultrasound in the GP practice , so I think all in all I have A keeper , I wish all Gps were as thoughtful x

Could be he his using Temporal Arteritis instead of the later name, GCA, Giant Cell Arteritis.

On the ball or what. Better to act on things than ignore.

Sorry, being a bit slow today.... Do you mean like a black eye type blackness or black in the eye itself?

Definitely , especially as he rang me yesterday as promised to check how I'm getting on and was not happy that symptoms had not completely subsided , so left me on 30 mg pred and will check in again on Friday , can't fault him , long may it last x
