Hi everyone. Just a little follow up to a post I put on earlier (a reply to cctraveller)...had to see my GP today about something else..(back trouble again..now on Amitriptyline..just add it in to the mix!!!). He asked how I was getting on with the pred so I told him about the unsatisfactory visit to the rheumy back in January and told him I was still doing my own thing...VERY slowly. He said that was absolutely fine and to carry on as I was reaching the 7.5mg stage where it could get tricky!! Think he's been reading up...but I am very grateful to him knowing he is there to back me up!!

Hi Jane, I assume he was referring to the kicking in of the adrenals...which...by reading the advice on here, happens around the 7-7.5mg dose!! I managed to get down to 7.5mg last year, before Christmas...but it was a step too far for me..I did not have a good couple of months. I'm now on 9mg and going so slowly I really am near dead stop!!! but I don't care any more..as in..I don't care how long it takes as long as I feel ok. But I have GCA of course...not PMR. How long have you been on 7mg? I do hope you feel better soon.
