Two things maybe three ....

First I have read a few places where back pain was really bad .. well I have a spot mid spine where it spasms and it so painful. I bought a big handheld massager and it really helps. Of course when I am using it it about sends me to the moon but I keep it up for a few minutes then it goes away. And I use it on my hips also. The only problem I have with it is sometimes I forget to use it.

Second went to dermatologist for my melanoma and he burned 5 Pre cancers off. I am confused about the open sore on my shin. He burned it and the one just starting on my other leg. My problem was right under the spot on my left leg the bone in my leg was so sore. It doesn’t hurt all the time just when I am lying down and walking. My recliner is my haven where nothing seems to hurt.

Third my labs are down to almost normal and yes we rely on them for me. I am at 10 mgs and will stay here at least a few weeks. I have pain everywhere but am not sure if it is withdrawal or too low on prednisone. I am doing my best to not start the yo-yo going again. Going up and down has to be worse for us. Who knows.

Wow! Glad you found that massager. It sounds great - and your recliner. You need to tell the dermatologist about that deep bone pain, it doesn’t sound right to me. I would be tempted to increase my Pred dose and taper slowly once the pain is under control. Take care Lin-calif. 🌷

No not this time I need to see if I can stay at 10 mgs n if things settle down. The deep pain in my shin bone has subsided somewhat. I took some ibuprofen and all my pains settled down. I think some of my pmr stuff might be arthritis or fibromyalgia.

I know what pmr is and I feel as if I might have gone into remission but other issues might be cropping up. So I am going to ride this one out.

I won't ignore it for too long but trying to be Sherlock so I won't be taking prednisone up n down yo-yo.

Thank you for your advice it is always welcome.

Linda Oregon hehehe

I don't know if we can change our names.

Bless you Lin er Oregon 😂. I am sure you’re right. I think my pains are arthritic too. It is cold and wet here. I don’t know if we can update our names, you could be Lin- moves house a lot, 🤣 ♥️

I now have a fuller understanding of why people say I can’t move my doctor is here. The moving is done. I pray the owners don’t ever sell as I love this place. I am not scared here or harassed and my apt is so nice. Ok so some things are broken but I don’t care.

I lucked out n have brand new carpet n the owner was shocked that they put in really good pad.

I have set up a makeshift bird feeding station n have about 5 varieties coming to eat. My cat is very entertained as I am.

I guess I should have kept my motor home much easier with house on wheels. I loved living in it. 34 ft but the work of camp hosting was too much on my own.

This morning I am in less pain so we are going from here. I see my GP on Thursday about my knee. I fell about 5 or 6 weeks ago and the tear still hurts. So much for healing on its own.

When I collapsed before my pacemaker was put in I twisted my knee - gloriously swollen and black and blue but they said it was no real damage, just soft tissue. It's fine until I have to walk a lot - even short distances repeatedly. OTOH - a diclofenac gel does work well!!!

I love the way your cup is always half full wherever you end up. I need lessons from you on how to look on the bright side. I had 13 goldfinches around my bird feeder in late summer, I was mesmerised. The adult couples are still around, the babies have flown, just like mine.

in reply toSheffieldJane

Well Jane I don’t see where you need lessons. You are a bright shining star and it always shows. I always love seeing I got mail ...and it is from you. Ok enough of the mutual admiration we are swell hehehe...... God bless

I think we're allowed to change our names once or maybe twice, that's all.

in reply toHeronNS

I just looked at my profile but didn’t see my name so cannot see how to change it. Like PMRpro said everyone knows where I am.

I just looked at my profile too and you're right, we can't change it there. But I did change my name once, soon after I signed up.

You've had so many upheavals in your life in the last year or so, no wonder you aren't up to par. I agree you should try to avoid the yo-yo, especially if you've found analgesics help the other pains. And I also agree with PMRpro that it might be wise to stay at 10 a little longer. When I started my most recent sequence of tapering, after a couple of years stuck around one dose I managed to succeed by doing each step of the dead slow taper twice. I am tapering by .5 mg and have finally got successfully below 2.5. It takes about three months to taper half a milligram, but now I'm at half a milligram so the next taper is going to attempt zero as my new dose. "It isn't slow if it works." So, long story short, when you're ready to taper again, take heed of the other part of the taper plan's name: "nearly stop"!

Yeah I agree. I have felt unsettled for too long. I am really proud of myself though, as I am learning to not let others situations bother me. I WAS the type running out to see if I can help. It is the Chaplain in me.

Alas I can no longer run so I say...it is not my problem and it is not effecting me. What a difference in my life.

We are told not to be busybodies I now see why. Don’t know don’t care....

Doesn’t mean I won’t help my neighbors just means I won’t butt it when not asked. 🙀
