Rheumatologist wants to see me Monday. Told me to bump prednisone to 40 mg. Was on 15 mg & I was suppose to go to 12.5 mg next week. Disappointed but I guess I'm beginning to grasp prednisone isn't the enemy. Hoping it works quickly to relieve pain. Have pain in hips & shoulder now too. I suspect he will say I now have pmr too. Thank you to all of you for your encouragement, advice, and dare I say "love." I'll let you know what he says on Monday. Have a good weekend everyone.

Definitely love being sent to you ftom others. Glad you are now on higher dose. Although its disappointing having to increase your sight is more important. Good luck

You may dare say " love" we all love our Faraway Friends on the forum and want the best for them.

Very glad they are acting promptly and hope you will finally get closer to a full diagnosis and the right treatment for you very soon.

Glad you are getting good care promptly Spanky and your sight will be safe. We’ve all been through the flare and being disappointed at having to go back up. I’m just now getting back down to where I was last June after a flare last summer. Try to rest and take good care.

Hi spanky, the main thing you have found out is that your body is still flinging out inflammation. A spell at 40mg and a slowish reduction once symptoms eased will hopefully be successful. I think patience and acceptance, that is there in your post, will help you get better. 💜😘

Why am I not surprised you are having a 'flare'?

80mg in April and now down to 15mg.............too fast a drop.

It took me six months to get down to 25mg and then 1st flare. When that flare was controlled, , the Golden Rule, no more than 10% at a time and never a drop until one month had passed and the symptoms did not return within 5 days of taking that drop.

Those five days gave your body time to adjust to the withdrawal symptoms, if they did not subside within the 5 days, back up - wait and then try again.

Then we met Ragnar and tapering plans began to be produced by Patients.

Sending love back to you Spanky! As jinasc says, take it nice and slow next time. Tortoise and the Hare! X
