Does anyone else find having a head cold can bring on a flare?

I’m feeling crap from the head cold but it has coincided with a flare of pain and stiffness in my hips, neck and shoulders. Also when I sneeze my rib cage feels like I have broken bones it’s that painful. Is it a coincidence or has my immune system given me this inflammation as a result of the cold? I was tapering at 4mg but it’s just not doing anything 😥

I’m sorry you’re flaring and not feeling well. I seldom have a head cold without flaring at the same time. It seems to me that any kind of stress on the body can result in a flare. I’m on a fairly low dose too but if I’m flaring badly and it’s not getting better, I will raise my dose for a couple of days and go back or slightly above the dose I was taking with the idea of getting back to the dose I was on.

Your immune system hasn’t “given” you anything - it’s just not able to cope with anything as simple as a cold at the moment.

Might be worth going up a mg until cold runs it’s course.

Thanks, that’s what I thought. I’ll try 5mg tomorrow
