Typhoid vaccine is not live so no worries about that bit in regards to being immunosupressed, though 5mg doesn’t put you at high risk. Vaccines are meant to produce an inflammatory reaction to get your immune system’s foot soldiers out to meet the new particles and Pred will lower this response a bit. There is also how your body will react to having the system stimulated and it is common to feel achey, fluey and tired and well as no response at all. Some don’t like the idea of forcing the immune system to work overtime when so much effort goes into suppressing it. However, you need to decide on the risk benefit balance as you travel to an area where typhoid can be contracted simply by an infected but possibly asymptotic person preparing your food after poor hand hygiene or using contaminated water. Even if you opt for vaccination, it is wise to be very careful not to contract other faecal/oral bugs, see below link

If you decide not to vaccinate it is one of the more easily avoided diseases as long as you are careful to avoid it using measures in the above link.
This (NHS Scotland) website is very helpful re travel abroad. You might find some useful info there.
