I have GCA, am tapering pred from 60 mg down currently to 10 mg. I have noticed a perceptible darkening of my face , not so much the rest of the body . Has anyone experienced this ? If yes what is the narrative pre and post the darkening ? Please do share. Regards

Don’t recall anybody has commented on this before - or at least it’s certainly not common with Pred.
Are you on any other medication? Some NSAIDs can cause problems, but you shouldn’t be on them alongside the steroids.
Hope you get some answers - might be worth discussing with doctor.
Darkening of the skin is mentioned as one of the rarer side effects of Prednisalone by the Mayo Clinic. I would mention it to the doctor, as it is rare. Even a good pharmacist might be able to explain.
Could be related to adrenal glands but at 10 mg it may not be. Sorry no help at all. Lol

Unlikely to be adrenals if youa re still at 10mg - but pred does make some people more sensitive to the sun.
