I can’t stand it. I am at 3,75 mg now and I have no PMR pain what so ever BUT I seem to have a lot of other concerns maybe due to adrenal problems?
As you may have read I have problems with my left hip, it may be arthritis or hip impingment. I am doing all my physiotherapy exercises, but it doesn’t change. Started in april. Now I also have impingement problem in my right shoulder.
The fatigue is killing me, I am so tired in the morning and also in the afternoon though I sleep more than 8 hours a night. And these last 2 weeks has been horrible moodwise. I just want to scream at EVERYBODY!!!
As I am 49 I don’t know if this is adrenal problems or perimenopause. I will try to get bloods done to maybe find out more. How often have you had synacthentest done where you live?
I am so sad to be feeling this way and I can’t explain to people without PMR how this feels. You know. Thank God for this forum.

In the U.K. a Synacthen Test tends to be done if your doctors suspect that your own Adrenal glands may be unable to produce Cortisol. I requested a test because of the unbelievable fatigue I was experiencing at 5.5 mgs. The result showed that my baseline figure ( bloods) was too low and although I was producing Cortisol it was insufficient. A few weeks later on a lower dose of Pred ( alternating 4 mgs and 4.5 mgs day to day) they had recovered to normal levels. I am to have another test at 3 mgs to see if this recovery has continued. Unfortunately this is not really affecting how I feel. I am still tired and moody. Doctors do tend to pathologise this and yet on here it appears to be a very common, low dose, set of symptoms. Even without a specific Adrenal problem being identified. My guess is that we just take a long time to recover from these systemic diseases and long term steroid treatment. And yes it’s 🤬 miserable!
Yes we've been discussing the awful fatigue on here last couple of days. It is awful and getting me down really bad. You are very much not alone. Not that it solves anything! Like dragging around a sack of potatoes.
No, I am waiting for an app with my GP in the 2 september to ask for that. I have been examined by my physiotherapist and she said it might be impingement.
