This morning, I woke at 7am after sleeping through my intended 5 mg dosage, which I should have taken

at 2am.

My arms were aching ( that's what woke me up) and I quickly took my dose at 7am.

I continued to lay in bed and waited until the prednisone started to kick in. It took 1 hour and 20 minutes.

After that time of one hour, twenty minutes, things were back to normal and I could move around without any pmr pains.

It's amazing to me, that the low dose of prednisone gave me such relief.

Don't give up hope folks, low doses do no harm to the body, and my doctor advised me, I may have to stay on it forever.

That's the basis of jinasc's comment about taking pred a couple of hours before you intend to get up and settling down until it works ...

Yes you are correct, that's why I have always taken at 2am. Overslept. 😴

Yes - but 2am is the "get the pred there so the stiffness/pain never gets a hold" - 2 hours before getting up saves the nocturnal waking ...

I'm usually awake at that time to use the bathroom. ( 2am)

I was surprised to sleep through. 👍

I notice such a difference if I miss my early morning dose . Don’t think I’ll ever get below 7 and a half . Been there for nearly a year now . I’ll be happy to stay at 5 forever, if I ever get there .

I take my dose at 230 am about bathroom time. 6.5. I feel awful if I miss my dose and have to take it later. Takes 4 hours to feel good again.

I set my alarm for 4am. More than once I have turned it off, rolled over and gone back to sleep only to find my little white pills sitting there on my next awakening. 😴
