Other Autoimmune illnesses?

Hello, new here. Does anyone have other autoimmune markers in addition to being diagnosed with PMR? I suspect I have PMR due to stiffness and difficulty walking far. I also have low level markers for RA, lupus and have not needed meds so far. I am 65.

I have recently been Dxd with "seronegative RA" in addition to my PMR which I've had 16 years. Age 80. Hands and wrists were very bad but have responded well to Pred + Hydroxychloroquine.

Yes, same here. Prednisone and Hydroxychloroquine have helped with seronegative RA factor ---- no visible indication.

Many perfectly healthy people have low levels of many markers including those.

I had Auto-Immune Thyroiditis aka Hashimotos for a while before the recent brush with GCA. PMR and GCA is also in my family.

I have Hashimotos and Psoriasis. The psoriasis is really bad at present - the worst I ever had it.

Yes I have Myasthenia Gravis and vitiligo. Also lots of food intolerances.

Food intolerances have been a problem for me, too.

Hi

Hope you are all as well as can be expected.

I have fibromyalgia but seem to have symptoms of pmr as well, should I ask my Dr to refer me? I also have diverticulitis, IBS, gastritis, diabetes, Nash(non alcoholic steatohepititis) caused by meds from my Dr, costochondritis, sciatica, oa in knees , spondylitis and under active thyroid to name but a few!! So obviously I'm in tremendous pain all the time. Sorry to rabbit on. Thinking of you all and love and hugs to you all Lynne xxxx

Hello Oldham

You seem to have more than your fair share of issues. Yes, definitely see your GP & give him your history that make you think it’s PMR he might do some blood tests before trialling you on a short course of Pred, he will probably want to refer you because of your existing conditions.

Let us know how you get on.

Kind Regards 🌷

Good luck. I share a few of your health issues including fibromylgia. I agree with mrsnails, you should see your gp for blood test and pred. Pred doesn't help fibro so you will know if the new type symptoms are PMR. I could tell there were "new" fatigue with pains and aches. You know your own body. Hope you get some relief.

I have seronegative RA and have been treated for 25 years. Still managed to develop PMR as a nice 60th birthday present.

Hi

Thank you all very much, I'm at my GP's surgery now ready for when they open at 8. They let you in the entrance at ten to but they don't open until 8. Love and hugs to you all Lynne xxxx

Hi

How are you all tonight?

Saw Dr, diverticulitis flare up, infection in my ground, he said toe probably arthritis but didn't even look at it , put all my joint pains down to fibromyalgia, didn't think I needed and bloods doing!! I'm going to give it a few days and then make an appointment with my favourite GP, when you want a same day appointment you have to take whoever is available. Dr was very nice but sometimes he does fob you off!! Love and hugs Lynne xxxx

Sorry to hear this. How do they diagnose diverticulitis? Which scan? How do they treat it?

in reply to VeeWat

Hi

How are you feeling tonight?, Mine was diagnosed with a colonoscopy

If you have a flare you are put on antibiotics, they did try mebeverine with me to no avail. Take care Lynne

Oh that’s not much fun after you getting there so early too!

If it’s about a long standing condition you are often best with a Dr who knows you well.

Sorry about your diverticulitis flare, that must be painful as well as distressing, hope that improves soon.

Kind Regards

MrsN

I had raised but low markers for rheumatoid arthritis. The doctor was not concerned, but I am sure watchful. My mom had rheumatoid arthritis. He speculated that could be why markers were somewhat higher. I hope things work out for you.
