Two years ago I was diagnosed with PMR then RA and no one seems to really know which it is. I am off prednisone and on Methatrexate but the fatigue is overwhelming. I am getting my house ready to sell as we can no longer maintain this property. Our plan is to move into independent living community in FL. Would prednisone help with this fatigue?

PMR or RA?
Most of us on here are on Pred. and some of us suffer from this deathly fatigue. It seems to be a complete mystery to our doctors. I have asked my GP, my Rheumatologist, and my Endocrinologist. It just seems to go hand in hand with autoimmune diseases and sadly appears in the side effects of the medications we have to take. Occasionally people pop up and say the fatigue has gone, but it seems more luck than design. Obviously looking after your general health and well being, must help, good diet, ( have tests to see that you are not deficient in anything) fresh air, exercise, plenty of rest and sleep. At the moment I take a nap every day, it is always at the same time and always 90 minutes. This is the only thing that has helped me so far. Happiness helps too. When I looked after my little grandson. I was oddly less tired and more happy. So there may be a psychological element too, pain grinds you down and distraction is good.
The fatigue is a common part of all autoimmune disease I'm afraid and the only reason pred may help with fatigue is at higher doses it makes some people a bit hyper, cancellig out the fatigue to some extent.
Fatigue has to be managed by lifestyle adjustments, pacing and resting. Maybe this might help:

It sounds as if you are heading in the right direction though.
