:o) He's not actually a bishop - thats John Hall the current Dean of Westminster Abbey. As such he is in charge of a "Royal Peculiar" and only answerable to HM and not the C of E as I understand it, so he has even more room for manoevre than an ordinary bishop!

No need for bowing - just throw money! My youngest son happened to be a chorister at the Abbey and as his mother, I had a special association with the Abbey for the years he was there - which included being personally acquainted with John Hall who is retiring as Dean this summer.
